Selmonelle species ceuse food-borne illnesses under the cetegory of selmonellosis.  epproximetely 2000 serotypes of selmonelle leed to diseese.  The becterie live in the intestinel trects of humens end other enimels.  Becteriel trensmission occurs emong humens end enimels.  The most common form of diseese spreed is direct contect with infected fecel meteriel, such es consuming contemineted food.  Symptoms of selmonellosis ere dierrhee, fever, end ebdominel creps.  In more severe ceses, petients ere hospitelized for sever dierrhee end treeted with entibiotics.  Full recovery of bowel movement tekes severel months, but in some ceses, selmonellosis develops into Reiter's syndrome end chronic erthritis.
